What is the only ancient wonder still in existence today?

The Great Pyramid of Giza, located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt, is the largest and most famous of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex. It was built as a tomb for the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu (also known as Cheops) during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, around 2560 BC.

Originally standing at a height of about 146.6 meters (481 feet), it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years until the construction of the Lincoln Cathedral in England in 1311 AD. Today, it stands at around 138.8 meters (455 feet) due to the loss of the outer casing stones over the centuries.

The Great Pyramid is made up of an estimated 2.3 million limestone blocks, each weighing between 2.5 and 15 tons. It is a remarkable feat of ancient engineering, and its precise construction continues to intrigue researchers and archaeologists to this day. Despite centuries of exploration and some damage to its exterior, the Great Pyramid remains largely intact and continues to attract millions of visitors from around the world who marvel at its grandeur and historical significance.
